Pay to Play Guide
So if you know you are going to sink some money into the game I urge you to do it right away. I will do my best to keep this guide up to date with what is currently available for sale.
1. Buy Vork - he will give your legions a 100 percent power boost and he gets stronger for every troop you own. He will also give you a boost to your att, def and perception which is not a lot but it is significant when you are starting out. Finally he gets stronger with each different type of troop you own so you are making an investment for the future as he will constantly grow stronger.
2. Gear, Legion and Troops. You have a couple of ways to go here which are really dependent on how much you plan to spend.
The best place to get legion and troops is currently the chest available in the bazaar that sells for 20PC. Personally I would recommend buying 10 of them and opening them all at once since I believe(although I have no proof) that this gives you a better distribution of possible items. This should get you a legion, some troops and hopefully a mount.
The three expeditions types are NIP(New Item Pack), Relic Pack and Mystery Pack. An important thing to realize is that the NIP will give you a item you do not own until you have collected all the items at which point you can buy duplicates of anything you want. I would not buy duplicates of anything in the current NIP which as of this writing was Blue Fire and Red Fire sets. These items are actually not that great compared to the normal quality of the NIP but if you want a good set for auto-leveling the Red Items will get you off to a very strong start. The complete set will provide 372 Energy and 190 Stamina which should set you off on a strong path of being able to continuously level all the way to level 500.
I think if I were starting today knowing what I already know I would likely go for the NIP and ignore the Mystery Pack and Relic Pack. If you are planning to spend enough PC to guarantee you get some generals then you may still want to consider the Relic and Mystery Packs but bear in mind that you can and will get a lot of duplicates.
Whatever you do don't spend your PC on items in the Bazaar other than Vork and the Chest. Most of the gear and troops available there are crap and the Forgotten Ones armor may or may not be good but you have missed your change to buy the whole set as some pieces have already come and gone.
